For common paediatric medical conditions (such as Asthma, Allergic Rhinitis, Eczema, coeliac disease, migraine, thyroid disorder, urinary tract infection initial consultation with item number 91824 would be used. For follow up 91825 would be used.
For more complex paediatric medical conditions (such as assessment for Autism, suspected ADHD, learning difficulty etc in the realm of developmental- behavioural paediatrics, initial complex consultation with item number 92422 would be used. For follow up 92423 would be used.
For more complex paediatric medical conditions where final assessment summary with letter of recommendation needed (such as assessment for Autism, complex developmental-behavioural problems with comorbidities such speech language disorder, learning difficulty, foetal alcohol spectrum disorder etc follow up complex consultation with item number 92140 would be used. This is once in a life item number for Medicare.
A comprehensive package of medical reports can be provided at an additional cost between $ 50 – 250 depending on the complexities of the clinical condition.
